 Squirrels store food for the winter (nuts,
acorns and spruce cones) in tree cavities, under logs or in the ground.
Red Squirrels have few storage spots and guard them ferociously. Grey
Squirrels hide their food over a much wider area and therefore do not
guard their stashes.
