Volunteer
Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer. ~Author Unknown
Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless.
~Sherry Anderson
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.

Without the caring, responsible commitment and dedication of our volunteers, Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would not be what it is today nor will it continue to be a life saving respite for our wildlife. Our volunteers are the very spirit that makes us such a success.
Volunteering at the Sanctuary comes in many forms, from wielding hammers building and improving enclosures, answering telephones, walk a thons, cleaning cages, washing bowls and buckets, shoveling wood shavings and the list goes on and on. No job is considered menial as every job that is accomplished is monumental in that it is something our staff then does not have to attend to thus giving them more time with the animals that need their care.
On occasion we need specialized assistance e.g. electricians, plumbers, carpenters but for the most part no experience is required, just a strong commitment and desire to help us help the animals.
The only qualification necessary to volunteer at the Sanctuary is that the individual be 18 years or older and that they sign in at the office upon arrival. Those that are younger than 18 years must be supervised by an adult at all times and jobs assigned are age and physically appropriate.
